Fourth Southern National Congress The Fourth Southern National Congress will convene Friday and Saturday, November 18-19, 2011 at Montgomery Bell State Park, near Dickson, TN, about 30-40 minutes southwest of Nashville, TN. The Fourth Congress will be the most important yet. As our country continues to deteriorate right in front of eyes, we are reminded daily why we became delegate.
Is the Constitution Really Inimical To States Rights? Part Six Al Cronkrite, a freelance Reformed Christian writer living in Florida, has written several articles dealing with the Constitution and why it is not really what we have been taught to believe it is. In an article in The Covenant News in July of 2009 Mr. Cronkrite noted that most today view our Founders as mostly Christian men '...who produced documents that, if they were not expressly Christian, contained Christian principles. Others find it strange that Christian men would fail to encode the name of the Savior or refer to His dominion.' That thought brings a different dimension to the question--one that Gary North referred to earlier.
Secession: An Answer to the Sovereign Debt Crisis Get ready as secession is coming soon to a failed union near you. Over the weekend, the news has been full of reports about Scotland getting ready to vote on independence from the United Kingdom after the election victory by the Scottish National Party. The UK has stated it will abide by the coming referendum but we fear the Bank of England, their central bank will not be so agreeable.
Is the Constitution Really Inimical To States Rights? - Part Five We ve all been informed, via most of the "history" books we ve read, that the framers gave us a federated form of government. Some have, no doubt, told you that the use of the word "national" was just a convenient way of referring to the central government and it really didn t mean anything. How nice if that were only true! But we have to remember that the framers were highly educated men. More so than we today are. They understood political definitions quite well. As Mike Crane again reminds us: "The Framers were educated men and here in the words of the delegates from Virginia, mostly crafted by James Madison, is a plan for a "national" government--a consolidated government--not a Federated government." Or, as the old country boy said "I reckon it ain t what we thunk it was." Not by a long sight, sir, not by a long sight!
What is States' Rights? Part 6 If it is true that the framers of the Constitution of 1787 proposed a national government, then it should be easy to understand why the Anti-federalists were opposed to its ratification. It explains why our Confederate forefathers made changes in several areas when drafting the Confederate Constitution of 1861.
Is the Constitution Really Inimical To States Rights? - Part Four Mr. Galles also noted that: "One of the most insightful of the Antifederalists was Robert Yates, a New York judge who, as a delegate to the Constitutional Convention, withdrew because the convention was exceeding its instructions. Yates wrote as Brutus in the debates over the Constitution. Given his experience as a judge, his claim that the Supreme Court would become a source of almost unlimited federal over-reaching was particularly insightful."
Is the Constitution Really Inimical To States Rights - Part Three Gary North, in his book "Political Polytheism" observed that "...the Constitution removed Christian religious tests as the judicial requirement of the judges and officers of the new national government. That, in and of itself, delivered the republic into the hands of the humanists. Nothing else was necessary after that. From that point on, the secularization of America was a mopping-up operation." That s a much different assessment than most of us get of the Constitution, even in Christian circles. I must admit that when I first saw North s book I was a little hesitant about his thesis and where he was coming from. As the years have passed I have become less so.
Is the Constitution Really Inimical To States Rights? Part Two It seems that, under the Articles of Confederation, there were states rights, as each state was considered sovereign and independent. However, with the ratification of the new constitution, that seems to have disappeared. Historian Clarence Carson has noted that, regarding the Articles of Confederation: "This bent, or tradition can be traced to many sources. Americans were, above all, a people of the book--the written word--the Bible. There was the Puritan idea, too, of the Covenant, an agreement between man and man and between man and God...Colonists had drawn their own political agreements, such as the Mayflower Compact and the Fundamental Orders of Connecticut...Once the colonies had broken away from England, the only historical allegiances that remained were to the states and localities...At any rate, there should be no doubt that the government of the United States under the Articles of Confederation was brought into being by the states."
Is the Constitution Really Inimical To States Rights ? Part One For many years, when I first got into all the events that have helped to shape the direction I have gone in, I had a good friend, and sometimes mentor, Pastor Ennio Cugini, of the Clayville Church in North Scituate, Rhode Island, half a country and a whole culture away from where I am now. Pastor Cugini had a radio broadcast in Rhode Island called "The Victory Hour" which he used vigorously to expose the machinations of Communists and socialists, both in government and in the churches (yes, they were, and are, in the churches). He was also an avid reader of history. You have to be to be able to deal with what has gone on in this country for over two centuries.
Lincoln Mythology is Born This date March 4th marks the beginning of the Lincoln Legend, the mythology that was erected after his death and which has been compounded for over a century since in support of the ambitions of the centralizers, those who support the nationalist empire and the belief that all principles must be sacrificed on the alter of the elite s pursuit of wealth. Let’s review.
SNC Chairman Tom Moore speaking on March 26 The Southern National Congress Chairman, Tom Moore, will be a speaker at the Georgia Annual Conference of the The League of The South. The meeting will be in Indian Springs Park and will include both speakers, a cook out and an informal reception afterwards where you can meet and talk to Chairman Moore.
What a 'Hate Group' Hates It is a testament to the ignorance and bigotry of the "mainstream" media that any organization with the word "South" in its title is so automatically labeled a "hate group," or worse. After the hearing I decided to check out the Web site of the League of the South to see just what is said there that would cause such an outburst of, well, hate from the SPLC and its starry-eyed admirers like Congressman Clay, who bloviated about his "great respect" for the SPLC.
Egypt, Liberty and Secession At that point, will the Washington President…no matter who it is…support the desires and actions of the citizens of certain colony/states to throw off tyranny and form governments that protect their human rights? If not, then why would Washington support liberty outside our borders but not inside our borders?
Return to Sound Money As Chairman of the Southern National Congress, I’m encouraging SNC Delegates and all friends of freedom to make this issue and this Summit a top priority. South Carolina needs to fulfill its historic role as a champion of individual liberty and State sovereignty. A successful sound money effort in South Carolina will encourage the similar initiatives now unfolding in our sister States ...
What is States' Rights? Part 5 Most of us – especially myself – have believed most of our lives – the intent of the Framers of the Constitution was to give us a “federated” form of government. If you too have believed this during your life you will either find this series of articles educational or will dislike them very much.
The Third Southern National Congress - Final Registration Registration for Third Southern National Congress is in last week. If you’re a Southerner of good will and good character and meet the
qualifications below, the SNC Board of Governors invites you to apply to become
a Delegate to the Southern National Congress. Or If you want to attend the Banquet with keynote speaker Larry Pratt
Thomas Jefferson Speaks the Truth As we approach the 2010 elections a majority of Americans understand that
something is wrong in our land. Every few years this happens and we have what
the media and talking heads proclaim is a "watershed election." By this they
mean that the control of the government in Washington DC changes hands between
the Republicans and Democrats.
Lest Darkness Fall Walking battlefields, can be a very
inspiring event. So many thoughts run through your mind. The courage of gallant
men, their sacrifices and honour. The impact of the ebb and flow of combat on
our current lives. This is particularly true for War of Southern Independence or
War of Northern Aggression battlefields. For these battlefields were not only a
mortal contest between courageous men, but an intense battle over our form of
government and the very foundations of American Liberty.
Were the Anti-Federalists Wrong? In the great debates that occurred in each of the 13 Independent Republics, to consider the momentous question of rejection or ratification of the newly proposed Constitution in 1787, there were no small number of great and learned men that vehemently opposed, and warned against, the adoption of that document. History remembers them as the Antifederalists.
Individual Secession Some years ago I listened with keen
interest to a speech by a professor from Alabama speaking about how Americans
had tried State Secession twice. It had worked once and it had failed once.
While we all look forward to the time that we might go for the best of three,
there remain some things that one can do as an individual. They fall in the
category of Individual Secession. Individual Secession comes in many flavours
and the applications are as diverse as the people who implement it.

Larry Pratt - Speaker at Third Southern National Congress Thomas Moore, Chairman of the
Southern National Congress, announced today that Mr. Larry Pratt, Executive
Director of Gun Owners of America, will be the keynote speaker at the Third
Southern National Congress (SNC), which will convene November 12-14, 2010, at
Montgomery Bell State Park near Dickson, Tennessee.
Gotta Do Something - But What? - Part 2 With all charity, Joe, allow me to suggest that you are still a deck chair
re-arranger and therefore hope in vain come November. May I also suggest that
your exhortation for us to all get along under one big tent is a
misjudgment of human nature and of God’s TRUE diversity of creation.
Gotta Do Something - But What? Our Florida visitor was aghast at the number of, what he later discovered to be, illegal invaders availing themselves of American tax-payer funded medical care. He also related comments from the emergency room physician about how truly overrun and outstripped the health care system was by ‘those people’ and that something had to be done about it. He then went on to compile a list of facts about how much more these invaders receive from the federal government in social security, medicaid, and welfare benefits than do native-born American citizens who’ve played by the rules and paid into those systems all their working lives. He closed with an impassioned plea to, ‘vote them all out’, adding that the November 2010 elections will give us, ‘a golden opportunity’, to clean house.

Gulf Day of Prayer The Southern National Congress hasn’t yet commented on the appalling tragedy of
the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico, even though we’re transfixed with horror as
it grows worse every day; as the ooze washes ashore, polluting the
land-and-seascapes, killing wildlife, and ruining lives. It’s not because we’re
unconcerned. On the contrary, we’re deeply concerned for our fellow Southerners
who are losing their livelihoods, their property, and their health from the
greatest environmental catastrophe of all times. These are our Southern States
and these are our people. It’s like a death in the family of a friend, or
multiple deaths. The magnitude of the loss is so great that anything we might
say seems pitiful and inadequate. We’re numbed into silence by the sheer
intensity of the event, knowing that the toll on man and nature will most likely
increase beyond what we can imagine.
State Nullification -- Much Ado About Something South Carolina recently became the fifth State in which both houses of the legislature (by 4-to-1 margins) have passed sovereignty resolutions (in two other States, Alabama and Wyoming, the governors have also signed them). Let me quote a little of it to show you the thinking these people are now expressing—in a land, mind you, where nothing like this has been asserted in 180 years.
THE STRUGGLE FOR MEMORY The hallmark of a healthy, vibrant People is their stories, traditions, folklore, tales, and legends, both the true and the mythic. In rich, viable cultures, it’s not just the rulers or politicians or captains of industry who are celebrated, but also the historians, the bards, the storytellers. These individuals are the repository of the collective memory of a People. Without it they have no identity. And with no identity, with no “individuation” as a worthy and distinct People, their society has no sense of purpose or direction. A People with no knowledge of their history, with no collective memory, have literally become senile. Collectively, they are just as dysfunctional as an individual with acute Alzheimer’s disease.
What is States Rights? Part 4 In Part 1 of this series a concept was presented that runs a bit contrary to current public conception – that the term States’ Rights can be used more for partisan benefit than a true effort to protect the God-Given Rights of the people. Part 2 demonstrated that as early as 1801 incursions attacking American Liberty had already started and have continued to this day. Part 3 gave details on an obvious expansion of central government powers (authority) by legislative action.
Open Letter to Wen Jiaboa and the Chinese Communist Government You ve expressed concern with the safety of the hundreds of billions of dollars of US Treasury instruments
that you possess. Your concern is well founded. A prominent American financier once said If you owe the bank ten thousand dollars and can't pay, it's your problem. If you owe them ten million dollars and can't pay, it's the bank's problem. For you, it's three quarters of a trillion dollars. That makes it your problem.
What is States Rights - Part 3 Today it would be laughable to state that the federal government does not create “new” authority from not only legislation but also judicial edict and historically has also used armed aggression. One does not have to look very far to find examples
of federal government laws that are obviously beyond the scope that any of the Founding Fathers or Framers of the Constitution of 1787 could have conceived
A Duty to be Oppressed? Do good, upstanding citizens have a moral obligation to allow themselves to be oppressed, harassed, terrorized,
assaulted, and wrongfully detained or imprisoned? Most people would say - no. But would most people actually mean it?
The Greek Tragedy Is Just a Sneak Preview of What's Coming to Washington We are now living through the violent end of the age of fiat paper money and
thoughtless government debt. In the future, the desire for a secure store of value and medium of exchange is going to force currency competition. Even the U.S. dollar, following hyperinflation and a run on our American national debt,
could be reborn as a gold-backed currency.
